Habeas Corpus: “an artistic coup”, nominated for two more Curtain Call Awards!

Habeas Corpus by Alan Bennett – 23-26 April 2008

April 2008 saw the staging of Alan Bennett’s hilarious adult comedy Habeas Corpus and played to full houses every performance. The sexual hang-ups and antics of the Wicksteed family and other cast members such as Canon Throbbing, Mr Shanks and Lady Rumpers, had audiences rolling in the aisles and Barbara Godwin of the Daily Echo Curtain Call Awards was quoted as saying: “With spot on comedy timing, excellent props, lighting and sound effects, the whole is an artistic coup for director Bob Blake.”

No wonder, then, that we have been nominated for two Curtain Call Awards for this production, including Best Director of a Comedy for Bob Blake.
