Curtain Call Awards 2016

cooperaylott-loresFor the third year running, Cheriton Players have been nominated in the Daily Echo Curtain Call Awards. Nicknamed ‘The Oscars of the South’, the annual Curtain Call Awards recognise amdram talent within Hampshire and surrounding areas in a multitude of categories. This year (for the second time) we have received no less than three nominations – David Cradduck for Best Actor in a Comedy in his role as John Cooper in A Month of Sundays: “Guided the play with a veneer of acerbic wit, masking a visceral sadness.”; David Baldwin for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy as Aylott, also in A Month of Sundays: “Skilfully and sensitively portrayed.”; and Glynn Williams for Best Actor in a Comedy in the recent Cash on Delivery: “Increasingly ludicrous and hilarious as the fraudulent claimant.”. dsc_1659eWell done to all nominees, directors and cast and crew of both shows, and of course we wish them luck at the Awards Ceremony on 27th January in Southampton. A full list of the nominations for this year’s Awards can be found online.
