Chesil Theatre Casting Call – young actors required!
10 short plays by some of the best UK emerging writers are premiering at the 10×10 New Writing Festival 13 & 14 Oct 2.30pm and 7.45pm at the Chesil Theatre, Winchester.
Festival Director, Deborah Edgington, is looking for actors for the following ten-minute plays:
Rook Raven Crow (comedy)
A male actor playing age 20s black hair and tanned complexion (must look as if he could be of Mexican descent)
Black male actor playing age 20s
A female actor playing age 20s Middle-eastern ethnicity
The Worst of the Worst (drama)
2 male actors playing age 20s/30s to play prison inmates
Distant Sky (drama)
1 male actor playing age 20s/30s
1 female actor playing age 20s/30s
Mum’s the Word (drama)
1 female actor playing age 20s/30s to play mother (demanding role, some big speeches, movement/physical theatre experience required)

Info about rehearsal schedule:
There will be 4 maybe 5 eve rehearsals at the home of either the director or cast member, whichever is convenient.
1 rehearsal involving everyone, (i.e. all 10 plays) at the theatre on Sun 7 Oct at 2.30pm to go through entrances and exits for each play.
There will be a 30 minute tech on either the eve of 11th or 12th Oct (5 plays on 11th and 5 plays on 12th depending on running order).
13 Oct – Full-dress rehearsal in the morning starting at 10am – followed by first performance at 2.30pm and eve performance at 7.45pm
14 Oct – performances 2.30pm and 7.45pm
