THE (CAMEL) RACE NIGHT – FRIDAY 1ST MARCH!
Two years ago, we held a Race Night at Cheriton Primary School in aid of the Cheriton Village Hall fundraising campaign and very successful it was too! Great fun was had by all, so much so that we thought we would do it again this year. But this year we got the hump and decided to opt for camel racing rather than horses!
The rules are the same – turn up with plenty of change for the tote and strong wrists to pull those camels to the finishing line! There will be six races and the winner from each race will take part in the Grand Finale, the Black Chalk Cup (there’s a bottle of the lovely Black Chalk sparkling wine for the overall winner). With thanks to our lovely race sponsors Hellards Estate Agents, IVC, Service Point, The Flower Pots, North Motors, BarnStore Winchester and Black Chalk Wines. Tickets are limited, so book early! £15 to include a light supper. There will be a licensed bar too! Tickets on sale now www.ticketsource.co.uk/cheritonplayers
And there’s a chance to become a camel owner too, at an extra cost £5. Simply choose the option when you book your ticket (there are 36 camels altogether so plenty to go round). Owners will be awarded a rosette if their camel wins a race and, of course, there is the kudos! See you on Friday 1st March and – don’t forget – this event is at Cheriton Primary School (not the village hall) and proceeds will be donated to the Cheriton Village Hall fundraising campaign.
