The Cheriton Players

July 3, 2026

The Summer Social (and AGM) – Monday 13th July at 7pm – Cheriton Village Hall

Well, hopefully the temperature will have cooled a little in time for our popular Summer Social which this year will be rather special – yes, we have the usual meet and greet over a glass or two of wine, and a rare chance to catch up with fellow cast, crew and audience members and the short, formal bit (the AGM).

But this year, we have a extra treat for you in the form of a short one act play (shhh! can’t say any more about it at this stage!), directed by Jane Wilde. We think you’ll enjoy this one – and it’s all free!

At the AGM we say farewell to David Cradduck, who has been a member of the Players since 1973 when he was invited, as a teenager, to play the part of a young house doctor in Doctor In The House. Since then he has been in numerous plays, helped backstage, front of house, produced, directed and looked after our publicity. As he is leaving for the West Country, and standing down as a committee member of over 50 years, there is a vacancy for a new committee member and we welcome you to put yourself forward if you’d like to help us steer this thriving little theatre group through the next phase – especially if you have any experience of publicity, social media, creating newsletters etc.

So do come and join us for an informal get-together, a pleasant natter and nibbles, a glass of something and hear what is coming up later in the year and beyond!

It’s 7pm for a 7.30pm start at Cheriton Village Hall and all are welcome, whether members or not, audience, helpers or friends and supporters.
